Barbara Sue Armstrong

Barbara Sue Armstrong

July 6, 1965 - October 4, 2017     Age: 52

Barbara Adams Armstrong, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

In 1983 she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life John Fred Armstrong III.  They went on to have two wonderful children, Johnny and Caitlin Armstrong; who were her entire world.  She was a godly woman who always put others before herself.  In 2015 she received her greatest joy, a grandchild, and was then blessed with two more since. There was nothing that made her happier than spoiling and spending time with them and family.

Over the years, Barbie had suffered with pain and sickness due to the illness Scleroderma but never complained and continued to put the needs of others before her own. She was the rock of her family and will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband; John Armstrong III, children; John Armstrong IV (Heather) and Caitlin Armstrong (Justin), grandchildren; Finley and John Armstrong V and Luke McIntyre, grandmother; Virginia Lee, parents; Neil and Sue Adams, siblings; John Adams (Shari), Pam Hayes (David), JL Adams (Amanda) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Condolences may be expressed by donating to Nemours Children’s Hospital or the Scleroderma Foundation at www.sleroderma.org.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Memorial United Methodist Church

The family will receive family and friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at Memorial Methodist Church in Maxwell Hall.

Dearest Johnny, Little Johnny (to us), Caitlin, and family,
We send our heartfelt sympathy. May the memories of Barbie bring you comfort and may God’s love bring you peace.
She had such a genuine heart of love for people. Her love of every child was evident to every child whose life she touched too. Whether in the lunch room or as their Sunday school teacher, children knew Miss. Barbie cared. Miss. Barbie (and Big Johnny) touched the lives of our children (T.C. and Branden) and we’re forever grateful.
What her and I loved about each other and told each other often was that we were real “chics”. I still carry a card she gave me that was from one weird bird to another. I was gladly happy to be in the weird bird club with her because genuine and loving like her was the only way to be! She touched our lives and many others. As your hearts are hurting, know we all are hugging you and asking God to wrap his loving arms around you all.

I know as I begin to type this I will never find the right words. My heart is breaking for you all. Barbie was a very special lady who you could not help but love. We are prayng for you all that God will do what only He can do and that your precious memories will be like a warm blanket to your soul. Rejoicing that this world is not our home and she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Love to you all.
