Carolyn, Carl, James and I shared a little lake house so we could fish at Dead Lake in Bunnell. Carolyn LOVED to fish. One day, Carolyn and I were sent by Carl and James to get lumber for a new porch. We paid for it but as we pulled around to pick it up, Carolyn spied this velvet yellow chair for $5 at a yard sale across the street. We were so elated after we bought it that we drove another hour home…when Carolyn suddenly asked me why the lumber wasn’t rattling around in the back of the truck….and we realized we had forgotten the lumber! James and I still have that chair sitting on our front porch nearly 20 years later and I think of Carolyn laughing and laughing with me every time I sit in it. We will miss her terribly, as will everyone who loved her.
