Brinda Bolden Freeman, age 65 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Warner Center for Caring.

She was born on December 27, 1952 in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Ruben Lee and Shirley Carroll (Rish) Bolden.

She was a life-long resident of Fernandina Beach and graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1970.  After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Mercer University, she went to work as a 2nd grade teacher for the Nassau County School Board at the Peck School and Atlantic & Southside Elementary Schools.

She married Carl Freeman on July 2, 1983 and they enjoyed their life in Fernandina Beach together. In her spare time, Brinda loved going to the beach, reading a good book, crafting, sewing, crocheting,working in her yard and in the garden with her father. Brinda also enjoyed vacationing with Carl in the mountains.

She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Carl Freeman of Fernandina Beach, Florida; her parents, Ruben and Shirley Bolden of Fernandina Beach, Florida; her siblings, Ronald (Meriam) Bolden, David (Aysegul) Bolden and Pam (Bill) Bradley all of Fernandina Beach, Florida.  She also leaves behind her beloved dog “Izzy”.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home.

There will be a private family service at a later date.

She will rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

    I am so sorry to read of Brinda’s passing. I know that it has been a battle that she bravely fought with the loving care of you and her family. My prayer for all of you is that God will provide you peace and comfort. I have many memories of Brinda from Girl Scouts, to dinner at her parents before the Junior Senior prom She was such a good teacher. She was quiet, but her students knew that she cared for them and their education. She touched so many young lives. I hope that each of you are comforted by the special memories that you share.

    My sincere condolences to Brinda’s family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine how difficult this time is for you. Psalms 94:19 says “When anxieties overwhelmed me, You comfort and soothed me. May happy memories and the words of Jesus Christ at, John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:3,4 provide you with much comfort at this time.

    Carl, I was so sorry to hear of Brinda’s passing. It seems like only yesterday that we were all down at the race track. She was such a beautiful person and lived a very full life. There is no doubt that she is in a much better place now. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Carl, Ronnie and I are so very sorry to hear about Brinda. We were just in shock when I read this. Brinda was always the sweetest thing and I never saw her without a smile in her face. It was obvious when we saw the two of you that the love between the both of you was something that most people don’t have in a lifetime.

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bolden and Carl:

    I was so saddened to hear about Brinda’s passing. She was a wonderful girl and will be missed by all who knew her. I was out of town when she passed and I am so sorry I could not attend her funeral. Mom sends her condolences, as well. Prayers to you all.
