Delmas Anthony “Tony” Green

August 25, 1953 - August 15, 2017     Age: 63

Mr. Delmas Anthony “Tony” Green, age 63, beloved son of the late Richard and Wanda Guest Green of Yulee passed away on Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017at UF Health in Jacksonville.

Born in Fernandina, he was the eldest child born to the late Richard Dallas Green Jr. and Wanda Juanita Guest.  He grew up in Nassau County and was a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School, Class of 1971.  After high school he served in the United States Navy where he was a Boiler Maker aboard the USS Saratoga.  After being honorably discharged, Tony worked as a Boiler Maker for the JEA and other area mill shutdowns.

Tony was an avid Florida Gator fan and could always be found with his dog, Rox.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Dallas Green Jr. and Wanda Juanita Guest Green.

Tony leaves behind his children, Dale Green, Heather Flowers, Donny Green, all of Yulee, three brothers, Richard Dallas Green III, Lafayette, LA, Woody Dale Green (Delcy), Lake Charles, LA, Michael Edward “Eddie” Green, Atlanta, GA, his sister, Lou Cinda Ferguson (Bill), Fernandina Beach, FL, several grand and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.

His family will receive friends on Friday, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Oxley Heard.

Tony will be laid to rest with his parents in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

    So sorry to hear about Tony`s passing. I have known him all of my life. He was one of the nicest people you
    would ever want to meet. Family take comfort in knowing he is with Miss Wanda and Capt. Dick in the awesome presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Tony was a good neighbor and friend. We will miss him but pray for God to receive him into his grace. He was a good and righteous man. He served his country with dedication and honor. Thank you, Tony, for your service to our mortal world. Rest in peace, neighbor, we miss you.

    Delmas was a great man. He was fun to work with and he treated me and my children like family. I wish I would have gotten back around to see him and will surely miss him. I will cheer our Gators on faithfully..Thank you Delmas for your friendship. Love ya always. Donnie, Dale, and Heather I’m praying for comfort for you all. So sorry for this loss.

    RIP My Good Friend Tony many child hood memories that we shared growing up in Fernandina beach as kids was a one of the most unique places in america,if we ran out of things to do we’d create the positive times our most fun was the 14th street bridge jumps during the summer months when there was nothing else to do GOD SPEED MY FRIEND.
