Dominick Francis Parisi

March 18, 1932 - November 17, 2020     Age: 88

Dominick Francis Parisi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.  He was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Glorianne (nee DeAngelo); his daughter, Jacqueline and her husband Edward;  his daughter, Alyssa; brother, Bernard and sister Rose.  He is predeceased by his brother Joseph and sister Ann.

He was loved by all of his nieces, nephews, friends and family, and brought a smile and a song to all who knew him.

Dominick served in the Army during the Korean War era, and was stationed in Germany.  Upon his return, he attended Jersey City State College, where he met his wife Glorianne, and earned his Masters degree in Education.  He was highly respected in his profession.  He became principal of Lincoln School, (Ridgefield Park), then Selzer School in Dumont, NJ, where he worked for more than 20 years. During this time he also worked as an adjunct professor for JCSC/Educational Law.  Upon his retirement from Selzer School, he was employed by the Department of Juvenile Corrections-Educational Division for the next 5 years.

He and his family loved to travel, and visited many destinations, including the hometown of his parents Maria Immagalata and Bernardino, in Bernalda, Italy.  Mostly though, he loved to spend time with “his girls,” his family and his friends.

No public service is currently planned.  There will be a celebration of his life at a future date.

We will all miss our Uncle. He always had a smile on his face and a terrific disposition. He was fun loving and loved life. I took his name, Dominick, as my confirmation name and he always called me “Peppino” when we met. And, as everyone knows his favorite song is …. “Temptation”. While he now joins his family in Heaven, I am sure he is singing Temptation. There will be a void without him at family gatherings but memories of him and the happiness he gave us, will still be with us. He will certainly be missed. Our sincere condolences go out to Aunt Glorianne, Jackie, and Alyssa. We hope that the positive memories you have of him and the thought of knowing he is at peace, will help you.

Although I didn’t know him well, what struck me most about Dominick was that he was always smiling and laughing. He was very nice to me and I will miss him very much
