Mrs. J. Kim Sweat, age 60, of Yulee passed away on Monday morning, June 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by those she loved.
Born in Statesboro, GA she was the daughter of Marvin Carl Beasley Sr. Kim was a graduate of Statesboro High School, Class of 1974. After high school she and her family moved to Panama City, FL where she attended Gulf Coast Community College. While studying at Gulf Coast she met a fellow student and Nassau County native, Carl Sweat, whom she would marry on May 15, 1976. Mr. Sweat quickly brought his new bride home to Nassau County where they began their life together. Mrs. Sweat worked as a Telecommunications Manager for the Amelia Island Plantation and as an Executive Assistant at Barnett and First Cost Community Bank before joining the Nassau County Public School System in 1995. Kim worked in the Adult Education Program; not only for the School System but also with Florida State Community College until retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed fishing, supporting her grandson’s sports endeavors, crafts and coveted any and all time spent with her family.
Kim leaves behind, her devoted husband of 41 years, Carl Sweat, their loving children, Jaime Sweat (Suzi Avret), Jason Sweat (Daniela), their adoring grandsons, Christian and Caiden Sweat, all of Yulee, FL, a brother, Carl Beasley (Kerrie), Panama City, FL, her sister, Karen Johnson (Bruce), Birmingham, AL, a nephew, Austin Beasley (Lynsey), Panama City, FL, a niece, Caitlin Johnson, Birmingham, AL, and a great nephew, Lukas Beasley of Panama City, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with Ed Cook, officiating.
Mrs. Sweat will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Oxley Heard.
