Jay and Ashley, I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I have many memories of times during pre-school until you both graduated from high school. I remember going to sporting events and cheerleading competitions where your mother was an avid support of your efforts. She loved you and all of the children that she taught. I always tried to stop by her room during Open House to wish her well in her new year. I know that. May God bring you the peace and comfort that only he can provide. She was a dedicated educator and such a spirited advocate for children’s needs. From her days long ago at the Amelia Island Parent Cooperative Preschool to her recent ones at Yulee Primary, she set the example for the rest of us. Wow, I just found out today (15-Dec-2017) that Lanae had passed away back in June. I dated her in high school in Germany at Wiesbaden High School (American DoD high school) for a short time and took her to Homecoming the fall of 1971 of our senior year. I dug out my yearbook and found her signature/paragraph to me. I also found a B&W 3.5″ x 5″ photo (taken by the school photographer) of us at the Homecoming football game at halftime on the field as part of the Homecoming Court with her all dressed up as a “Senior Attendant” to the Homecoming Queen and me in my football uniform. • Jon Jackson Posted December 15, 2017 10:26 pm

(2 of 2) And I know that somewhere there is a picture of us at her door all dressed up going to the Homecoming dance that night. If any family member wants a copy of that B&W halftime photo, let me know via email and I’ll send it (and I can crop most of myself out of it so it only shows her at 17 — please do not hesitate to ask for the crop as you won’t offend me). My condolences to her family for this, the first holiday season you will have without her. I can tell she made a difference to many students as a teacher and to her family as a loving mother. So extremely sorry to hear of your loss. Jon Jackson
