Larry Nobach

October 25, 1939 - February 5, 2018     Age: 78

Larry Nobach, age 78, of Ellsworth, Michigan passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Warner Center Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Florida following a courageous 20-year battle with cancer. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 25, 1939 to the late Edward and Doris (Kenyon) Nobach.

Larry graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing in 1958 and Michigan State University in 1962.  He attended Wayne State University Law School, graduating in 1965.  He was employed by Goodyear in Akron, Ohio and then The Michigan State Accident Fund.  Larry joined Munroe & Nobach, P.C. in January 1969. He retired from Munroe & Nobach, P.C. in January 2000.  He was a member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan.

For Larry, family, friends and work were the most important things in life, followed closely behind by the morning paper and a cup of coffee.  He also enjoyed fishing, boating, walking on the beach, and being up north at the “cottage” on Lake Michigan.  In retirement, he and his wife Sandie wintered in Naples FL, Gulf Shores AL, and Amelia Island FL.

He is survived by his wife, Sandie Nobach, his daughters Kiersten (Kevin) Stark and Lauren Nobach (Ty), his brother Phillip (Jean) Nobach, his nieces Andrea (Jesse) Fowler and Jaclyn (Dan) Bartnik, a grand-nephew Jake Fowler and a grand-niece Maddie Fowler.  He was preceded in death by his beloved toy poodles, Onami, Mylani and Tsaani.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring, Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville FL 32257, phone (904) 407-6141, www.communityhospice.com/give/; or the Dudley Peterson Fund, which helps financially struggling pet owners cover the cost of pet care, at Charlevoix Veterinary Hospital, 5560 US 31 South, Charlevoix, Michigan 49720.

A memorial service for Larry will be held this spring.
