Mary E. Wren

Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Laurel Denise Ohlsen Dwinnell and the late Joseph Ernest Dwinnell. Growing up in South Minneapolis, she attended Regina all girls Catholic High School where she was a member of the Class of 1967. In 1972, she enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served as a Personnel Technician. While stationed at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX, she met and married fellow airmen, John R. Wren. In 1984 Mrs. Wren separated from active duty and assumed her same job duties as a Civilian at Randolph. During her active duty service, Mrs. Wren received the Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medals. In December of 2011 she and her husband both retired; him from active duty and her from combined active and civilian service. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed ocean cruises before moving to Yulee in April of 2015.

She is preceded in death by her father and a brother, David Dwinnell.

Mrs. Wren leaves behind, her husband of 38 years, John Wren, Yulee, FL, a daughter, Melissa Marie Henig, Utica, NY, a son, John Joseph Wren and his wife, Tristi, Winter Haven, FL, her mother, Laurel Dwinnell, Yulee, FL, siblings, Michael Joseph Dwinnell (Mary), Princeton, MN, Peter William Dwinnell (Yvonne), Yulee, FL, Denise Marie Caraway (Michael), Yulee, FL, Joseph Ernest “Joe” Dwinnell Jr. (Debbie), Anderson, SC, Timothy Richard Dwinnell, Yulee, FL, William James Dwinnell (Sarah), Yulee, FL, Patrick James Dwinnell (Annie), Brandon, FL, James Paul Dwinnell (Vicky), Yulee, FL, Thomas Charles Dwinnell, Yulee, five grandchildren, Allyssa Wren, Brianna Lopsey, Ezekial Lopsey, Elijah Lopsey, Candence Wren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard where the Vigil Service for the Deceased will be held at 6:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
