Monica Leigh Peck

Monica Leigh Peck

February 22, 1980 - November 28, 2017     Age: 37

In the morning hours of November 28, 2017 the world lost a bright shining star. Monica Leigh Peck passed in her sleep, she was 37 years old.  She leaves behind her husband of 17 years Charles Peck, son David, daughter Alice, and her parents David and Donna Edmiston.   Also mourning her loss are numerous family members and friends from across the country and around the world.

Anyone who knew Monica knew of her intense love of all things Alice in Wonderland.  Monica loved a good adventure, to travel, to meet new people, and experience different cultures.  She had a kind and generous heart, that was always willing to reach out to help when someone was in need, and she never met a stranger. She had the ability to be right where she was needed most.

Monica will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, and a Celebration of Her Life is planned for Saturday, December 16.

Until we meet again in Wonderland, enjoy the Tea Party!

So sorry and shocked to hear of Monica’s passing. I’m praying for your whole family Charles (always will be Nathan to me), and Monica’s entire extended family as you deal with your loss. You can have comfort in knowing. She is now with your dear mother…and will be watching over you all until you join her.

There’s so many stories that feature you, I still don’t know where to start. I remember the day I met you, and we realized we grew up on almost all the same bases. I remember the day you graduated, I was so proud of you. I remember the day you got hired for your first radio gig, I was so excited for you. You also quit working for me at the college coffee stand that same day, and we just laughed and rehearsed all night. I love you, Mo. I miss you madly.

I wont be able to make it o the celebration of life however, I saw this poem, and it reminds me of Monica, She will always be in my heart,

    Please don’t cry
    I’m not really gone
When you look out the window
I’ll be standing on the lawn

    Please don’t cry
    I’ll see you again
    Don’t be sad
    Keep up your chin

    Please don’t cry
    I’m not really dead
When you cry yourself to sleep
    I’ll be by your bed

    Please don’t cry
Just because we had to part
As long as you remember me
    I’ll live in your heart

    Please don’t cry
    I’m not gone forever
I’ll be a cool and gentle breeze
    In hot summer weather

    Please don’t cry
    Don’t run and hide
When you need a shoulder to lean on
    I’ll be by your side

    Please don’t cry
    When you’re sad and weak
    I’ll be there
To kiss you on the cheek

    Please don’t cry
    This is just a goodbye
    So please, oh please
    do not cry

Words do not express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. You are in my prayers….don’t forget….a single set of footprints in the sand says Jesus is carrying you, because you are not alone thru this journey.

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved, Monica. Please know that Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ is aware of your pain and they care for you. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) . I pray that you are able to find comfort in God’s promise of paradise where there will be no more pain and sorrow (Revelation 21:4,5)  and the many wonderful  memories of your loved one becoming a reality in the future resurrection in paradise.  (Acts 24:15). Please accept my sincere condolences.
