Tana Desiato

June 20, 1943 - February 24, 2018     Age: 74

Tana DeSiato of Fernandina Beach passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Baptist Nassau after a brief illness. She was born in Pascoag, Rhode Island on June 20, 1943. Growing up in Mansfield, Connecticut, Tana was among the first students to attend E.O. Smith High School and took first place in the Ms. Mansfield Pageant. She later raised her family in Windham Center, Connecticut and spent summers on Columbia Lake.

She spent the past 30 years in Florida, working as a bank teller, housekeeper and provided child care for growing families who became very attached to her.

Tana was energetic, giving, hard-working and independent. She loved baking cookies from scratch and sharing with family, neighbors and co-workers. She also hemmed countless garments for co-workers. Tana spent the last several years in Fernandina Beach working for Osprey Village and Angel Watch Homecare.

She was the beloved mother to Tammy & Marc Trudeau (Connecticut), Melissa & Bob Evans (Massachussets), Kim Aspinwall & Cliff Little (Fernandina Beach). She is survived by her 7 grandchildren, Jocelyn Loukas, Justina Ingerson, Katlyn Byrnes, Myles Byrnes (Connecticut), Kassie Godin (Fernandina Beach), Benjamin Evans, Tori Evans (Massachusetts). She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Dimitri, Constantino, Angelina & Jamieson (Connecticut) as well as her “adopted” family, Vicki Gruber and Jonathan Thomas (Fernandina Beach).

Tana loved her family dearly and will live forever in our hearts.

Tana’s family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Oxley Heard Funeral Home.

Please allow me to offer my condolences to the, Desiato family, by sharing a Scriptural hope. “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” – Rev. 21:3-5. This is the hope of the resurrection. I am very sorry for your loss. May God’s Word, the Bible comfort the, Desiato family and friends. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org – healingwordsforu@gmail.com
