Ellen Maus Boler

Ellen Boler, 84, of Osprey Village, Amelia Island, FL, died in her sleep on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021.

Ellen was the daughter of the late Walter and Hilda Maus of Maynard, MN. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1958 and married Harold Boler of Truman, MN later that year.

She was the mother of three sons Kent, Richard, and Michael. They lived in multiple locations in the mid-west and southeast over the years.

Traveling and gardening were her true passions while she loved walking, playing games, and collecting children’s books.

Ellen was of the Lutheran faith and had been retired since the death of Harold in 2001. She was physically healthy but had Alzheimer’s and had been living in the Osprey Village Memory Care Unit since 2020.

She is survived by her sons, Kent (Mary Kay) Boler, of Marietta GA., Richard Boler of Atlanta, GA., and Michael (Pattee) Boler, of Fernandina Beach, FL; her brother, Dr. Philip Maus of Dawson, MN; her brother-in-law, Robert (Karen) Boler of Lake Oswego, OR, her brother-in-law Gerald Boler of Truman, MN, her sister-in-law Bonnie (Richard) Lampright of Ogden, UT; four grandchildren, and nineteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wendell (and Betty) Maus, her brother Warren (and Rose) Maus, and her sister-in- law Jean Maus.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Nashville Cemetery east of Truman, MN where she will be laid to rest.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman from 12 noon-3 p.m.
