I've had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Hook for many years now. He always managed to bring excitement to his surroundings. Always found a way to make me laugh. I will miss him. My condolences to the family and friend he left behind.

Eugene A. Hook, 84, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away on Aug.21, 2023, at Baptist Nassau Hospital in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Gene was born Feb. 1, 1939, in Fryburg, Pennsylvania to the late Henry J. Hook and Mary Agnes Stark Hook. He graduated from Franklin High School. He was married to Marilyn Keating. They had four kids, Eugene B. Hook, Stephen T. Hook, Margaret E. Hook-Norris, and Richard J. Hook. He then remarried to Dorothy Stiglic until she passed away. Dorothy had 4 children from a prior marriage, Denise Stiglic(passed away), Tony Stiglic, Frank Stiglic, and Cindy Stiglic-Horton. He leaves behind 15 grandkids and 15+ great grandkids.
Gene was accomplished at being a firefighter, sheriff, electrician, game commission and enjoyed doing leatherwork and sewing as a hobby. He was a jack of all trades. He was passionate about hunting and fishing.
He was an active member of St. Patricks in Pennsylvania, St. Michaels in Florida and the Knights of Columbus.
The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Aug. 26, 2023 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard located at 1305 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. Followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Bosque Bello Cemetery located at 1321 N 14th St, Fernandina Beach, FL, 32034.
