Mrs. Irene Graham, 81, of Amelia Island passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Retreat at Osprey Village.

She was born June 30, 1936 in Melrose, Minnesota to the late Arnold and Martha Blair Schwegman. Mrs. Graham obtained her Bachelor of Science of Nursing and spent her 30 year career as a Registered Nurse. Kingsridge VA Hospital in Bronx, New York was among the hospitals where she was cared for others as a nurse.

In 1959 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Graham. Their marriage would last for 58 years and from that marriage they would enjoy their three children and five grandchildren. Moving from Lake Orion, Michigan she and Ken made their home on Amelia Island for the last 20 years.

Mrs. Graham was an avid card player, especially bridge, and loved animals. Also, her love and dedication to playing golf will always be remembered by those who knew her. She loved laughter and good-times. From her childhood years through the rest of her life, having fun was an integral part of who she was.

In addition to her husband Ken, her surviving family includes their daughter, Jackie Graham and her husband, Dave Trevitz of Houston, Texas; their sons, Dan Graham and his companion, Jackie Miller of Tega Cay, South Carolina and Michael Graham and his wife, Janice of Grand Rapids, Michigan; her sister, Sandy Schill of Middlefield, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Kevin Plummer, Amanda Graham, Natalie Graham, Alex Graham and Ian Graham.

The family will celebrate her life Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors with Chaplain Jackie Hayes officiating. They will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM.
