Mr. L.V. Guy, age 70, of Yulee passed away on Saturday morning, February 20, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born in McIntosh, AL, he was one of nine children born to the late Walter Jackson Guy and Lillie Mae James Guy. He grew up in McIntosh and attended Leroy High School. Mr. Guy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as a Platoon Leader in the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Division. For his service in Vietnam he was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon being honorably discharged Mr. Guy returned to Alabama and began a long career in the Steel Industry. He lived and worked in Citronelle and Mobile, AL and worked as a Tug Boat Captain, Iron Worker and Welder for many years before moving to Palatka, FL. Mr. Guy has been a resident of Yulee since 1999.

He was a member of the Boilermakers and Iron Workers Local No. 199 and he Loyal Order of the Moose, Post 2352, Yulee, FL.

He enjoyed building and racing Hobby Class and Super Modified Class stock cars, gardening and spending time with his family. He had attended Nassau Baptist Temple in Yulee, FL.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Leon Guy, Robert Lavon Guy, a sister, Lillie Marie Vitch and a grandson, Davis Guy.

He is survived by, his wife, Thiam Guy, Yulee, FL, his children, Andy Guy, Mobile, AL, Roger Guy and his wife, Amanda, Tuscaloosa, AL, David Guy and his wife, Jacky, Thomaston, AL, James Guy and his wife, Aviril, Huntsville, AL, Jamie Caccam and her husband, Joe, Jacksonville, FL, Lisa Stewart, Yulee, FL, Sherri Anderson, Callahan, FL, Betty Lynn Reynolds, Jacksonville, FL, his brothers and sisters, Lonnie Guy and his wife, Patsy, Jackson, AL, Linda Harden and her husband, Earnest, Jacksonville, FL, Larry Guy and his wife, Judy, Citronelle, AL, Libby Nelson and her husband, Charlie, Calvert, AL, Lawrence Guy and his wife, Diane, Saraland, AL, grandchildren, Travis, Peyton, Drew, Clayton, Cameron, Sydney, Kailey, Ane Grace, Shelby, Raelea, Garrett, Brody Rodeffer, Brynlee, Braylon, Avery Caccan, Triton, Chelsea, Justin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with Reverend Truman Blankenship, officiating.

Mr. Guy will be laid to rest in Hughes Cemetery, Yulee, FL.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons, John, Roger, David, James, Cameron and Clayton Guy.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 � 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
