Larry E. Cason, 78, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on May 2nd 2025 at the Warner Center for Caring. Born on July 1st, 1946 in Fernandina Beach, FL to the late Alfred Gibbs Cason and Vilee Hickox. Larry grew up and graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1964. After graduating from High School Larry enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country as a Cryptological Technician and retired after 26 years as a Master Chief.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Carol G. Cason, and his children, Stephen (Michelle) of Chesapeake, VA; Beverly (Deb) of Grand Rapids, MI; Ryan (Marnie) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Shan (Duncan) Mason of Fernandina Beach, FL. His grandchildren; Stephen Michael (Nicolette), Ethan (Caitlin), Sydnie, Jillian (Gage), Brett, and Lauren (David) Williams. Great granddaughters; Caroline and Ella Williams. Brother, Sonny (Kim) Hickox; sister, Barbara Cox and proceeded in death by his brother, Earl Cason and very special nieces.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished nothing more than the love of his family. He was a lifelong and avid LA Dodgers fan which he shared that love with his children.
Larry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, warmth and kindness. And we can’t forget his infectious smile. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Oxley Heard Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the hour of service.
