William "Larry" Cravey

William “Larry” Cravey, 78, of Nassau County, Florida, passed away surrounded by his family at home on November 30, 2025.
Larry was born on October 29, 1947, in Jacksonville, Florida, to his late parents William Leonard Cravey and Kathryn Cravey Smith. He grew up in Callahan, Florida. Served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Larry was an accomplished licensed Plumber, avid farmer, loving to work on the farm as a child and through his adult years alongside his brothers in Callahan. Larry also had a love for tending to his chickens, maintaining his garden, working outside and tending to his Farmall Red Tractor anytime he could. He loved serving with his Vietnam Vets and their Chapter 1088. He also loved watching Nascar and you could catch him drag racing at Pecan Park Raceway in his 1970 Chevy Nova on Friday and Saturday nights. Larry also had a love for his family and spending time with his girls and their families during the holidays and really enjoyed time spent at the pool.
A proud United States Army veteran, Larry served his country with honor. His commitment to service continued throughout his life as an active and dedicated member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1088 here in Nassau County. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his parents, William Cravey, Kathryn Smith and brother, Cecil Cravey.
Larry leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Linda Cravey. Together, they built a life marked by devotion & resilience. Larry was a proud father to three daughters, each of whom carries his strength and kind heart forward.
Teresa Spence (John), Karen Miller (Scott), and Monica Trexler Allen (Danny) all of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
He was also a proud grandfather, known for his steady presence, warm laugh, gentle heart and loved spending time with them.
Ashley Spence, Jonathan Spence (Kaitlyn), Saralyn Potter (Camm), William Miller (Emily), Lewis Ryan Miller (Caleigh), Austin Miller (Alvie), Conner Trexler (Nehali), Dan Allen, Cameron Trexler, and Emerson Allen.
Larry was blessed to be a great-grandfather and enjoyed and adored his time with Tucker Miller and Cooper Miller, who brought him tremendous joy in the past two years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11am in the Oxley Heard Chapel with visitation beginning at 10am.
Larry will be laid to rest at 2pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida with Military Honors.
