Alvie J. Myers-Tino

Alvie J. Myers-Tino passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 95. Born in 1929 in Broxton, Georgia, she was one of eight children of the late Sam and Mamie Worth.

Alvie married Vernon E. Myers, and they had four children together. In 1952, Alvie and Vernon moved their family to Fernandina Beach. Alvie spent her time running multiple family businesses and raising her children. Vernon and Alvie spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 1982.
Alvie’s was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, most always expressed through the warmth of a home-cooked meal. Alvie cherished her role as a grandmother and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren.

Alvie was preceded in death by Vernon E. Myers, and her son David Myers. She is survived by her children, John E. (Ann) Myers, Bonnie (Jim) Dunphy, Lunett (Wedrell) Rowland, her daughter-in-law Patti Mack Myers; her adored grandchildren Ken Rowland, Tracy Edenfield, Chris Rowland, Christy Bevill, Sharon Rowland, Kaitelyn Myers, Taylor Myers; her great-grandchildren, Valerie, Nathan, Caleb, Melanie, Shane, Colson, Emalynn and Myla; and three of her eight siblings, Lavonne (Ronald) Kirkland, Dave (MaryJo) Worth and Robert L. Worth.

A memorial service for Alvie will be held at the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach on December 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257, or give online at thefoundationcares.org/give.
