So sorry for the passing of Andy. Only know him thru being a regular at Moon River. Always friendly, smile on his face and assembled a tee of like minded folk. Peace Andy your soul of kindness lives on.

I am so sorry to hear of Andy's passing, my prayers are with all of his family. I had the pleasure of meeting both he and Daniel when they opened Moon River since I worked next door. Andy was always so welcoming and made me laugh no matter how difficult my day had been. Later in life, when I had grand kids, he always brought them dough to play with while we waited on our pizza. You will be missed, my friend; Fernandina Beach will not be the same without you. Thank you so much for all of the great memories.

We will miss him. He had such a thoughtful way of making people feel seen and welcome. I especially loved those little personal touches — when he was at the restaurant, he would put on The Rolling Stones when he saw me come in, and he added the Baltimore Orioles sticker above the stove for Doug. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May the comfort of family and friends, and the grace of God, help sustain you during this most difficult time.
Andrew James Bottorff

Andrew James Bottorff (58) was born on May 14,1968 in New London, CT to Karen and Jerry Bottorff. Andy unexpectedly passed away on May 18, 2026.
As part of a U.S. Navy family, Andy grew up in various U.S. cities and the U.S. Territory of Guam where at the age of 3 or 4 he became excited about a tiny, mouselike mammal and hence, the nickname “Shrew”. That name remained with him throughout his life. In 1986 Andy graduated from Summerville High School in Summerville, SC and in 1987 he moved with his family to Fernandina Beach, Fl where he found his permanent home.
After moving to Fernandina, Andy worked at Amelia Island Plantation, Down Under, Brett’s Waterway Café and various other restaurants. Andy graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Recreation Management. After graduating he was employed by Outward Bound Inc. Bells River where he worked with adjudicated youth.
In 1996 Andy joined his brother Dan at Moon River Pizza in Fernandina Beach, and the rest is history.
Andy loved music, played in bands, and enjoyed jamming with friends in his jam room. He liked working out by running and biking. One of his favorite pastimes was climbing the stairs to his moon tower to take in the view of the ocean that he loved. He was known for welcoming everyone with a big hug and a smile.
Andy is survived by his parents, Karen and Jerry Bottorff, his brother Daniel Bottorff, his 3 sons Andrew Boles Bottorff, Elias Croft Bottorff, Issac James Bottorff, his ex-wife Denise Bottorff.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life on June 7,2026 from 2 to 5 PM at Walker’s Landing.
In memory of Andy the family ask that you donate to your favorite charity.
