Anita Jayne Tarrant-Tamme

2020-06-06

Anita Jayne Tarrant-Tamme, 62, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Anita married her sweetie, and love of her life, (Gerald) Wayne Tamme, on July 27, 2006. After several years building a successful business as the vintners of Cityscape Winery in Pelzer, South Carolina, Wayne and Anita retired again to live out her dream of living at the beach. She enjoyed volunteering on Cumberland Island, and with the Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch, saving the Loggerhead Turtle community, one egg nest at a time. Together they loved to travel, and some of their most recent adventures including Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand and China.

In addition to her loving husband, she leaves behind the art of bargain shopping to four adoring children: Dennis Wayne (Julia) Tarrant, Angela Tarrant, Kimberly Tamme and Kellie (Mac) Spencer; brothers: Michael (Brenda) Reger and Bradley Reger; eight very braggable grandchildren: Tristan, Joseph, Bethany, Jadyn, Annabelle, Caroline Rose, Brooklynn, and Sophia Joy; and 3 furry grand-pets: Coco, Molly and Luna. Her grands say that Gram was always their biggest cheerleader and theyll most miss their time together spent shark tooth hunting and Black Friday shopping.

Anita is preceded in death by: mother Sarah Luke; grandmother Ruth Prewett; sister Ginger Wolf; and faithful feathered friend Misty.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00PM on Sunday, June 7th, with a celebration of life service at 3:00PM, at Oxley-Heard 1305 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, FL. 32034

Memorials may be given to her favorite cause: Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch P.O. Box 566, Fernandina Beach, FL. 32035

Her family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Baptist Medical Center and Community Hospice, who so lovingly, and thoroughly, cared for her in her final days.
