Ann Quinn Malone

Anna Parker Quinn Malone age 94 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center-Nassau.
She was born on Friday, March 7, 1924 in Gaffney, South Carolina to Whitelaw Reid and Elizabeth Ann (Hester) Quinn.
Ann grew up in Cedar Grove, SC and attended Cedar Grove Elementary School. After graduating from Marion High School, she continued her education at Winthrop College in Rockhill, SC and obtained her BA Degree from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC, where she majored in Art and minored in English.
She taught in Elementary schools in Atlanta, GA., Huntley Hills Elementary School in DeKalb County and Druid Hills Elementary School. Although she retired from teaching in 1973, Ann continued working for Omni Manufacturing as a secretary for the sales representative 10 years after her teaching career.
In 1995, the loving, passionate couple of 42 years, Ann and Hansell Bryan �Bill� Malone, III moved to Fernandina Beach from Atlanta and enjoyed all there was to offer on the island. He preceded her in death in 1996. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Weathers.
She leaves behind her children, Suzanne Malone (Larry) McLeod of Fernandina Beach, Fl; Alan (Robyn) Bryan Malone of Longwood, FL; Melanie Malone (James) Reed of Canton, GA; Stephen Malone of Fernandina Beach, FL; six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She loved her family, teaching, gourmet cooking, golf, tennis, dancing to Big Band music, scrabble, boating, and traveling. While in Fernandina Beach, she attended Chamber of Commerce events, both in Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach. She also attended Rotary Sunrise Club meetings and social and fundraising events. She loved attending Amelia Island Jazz Festival concerts and was always seen sipping wine, dancing and tapping her toes and clapping to all the Big Band greats, like Harry James, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey tunes! Her favorite songs were �Stardust� and �In The Mood�. She was a longtime member of the Nassau County Council on Aging Adult Day Health Care program lovingly called �The Club� where she enjoyed activities, field trips and arts and crafts.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home with Funeral Services starting at 3:00 pm in the Burgess Chapel.
A reception will follow the services at Oxley-Heard.
Please celebrate her life with us by attending her memorial service and/or contributions to the NCCOA Adult Day Health Care and Alzheimer�s Association in her honor.
