Ardith Yvonne O�Day, age 82, of Amelia Island, FL passed away on Tuesday morning July 31, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center-Nassau on Amelia Island, FL. Born in Farnam, Nebraska on March 3, 1936 and raised in Chewelah, Washington, Ardith was a resident of Amelia Island for the last 22 years. Prior to moving to Amelia Island, Ardith was a long time resident of Wilton, CT.

A graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Spokane, Washington in 1956 with a BSN, Ardith began her nursing career at Children�s Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

It was in Seattle that she met her beloved husband, John L. O�Day, who joined IBM Corporation where he enjoyed a successful 31 year career. John�s career led the family to move from Seattle to San Mateo CA, White Plains NY, Fort Worth TX, Salem OR, Boston MA, Wilton CT, Paris France and then back to Wilton CT before settling in Amelia Island.

Ardith was preceded in death by her husband John O�Day in 2002. Ardith leaves behind her five children: Mary Leidy and her husband Paul of Ashburn, Virginia; Steven O�Day and his wife, Carol of Los Angeles, California; Brian O�Day and his wife Susan of Fairfield, Connecticut; Daniel O�Day and his wife Mara, of Zurich, Switzerland; and Mark O�Day and his girlfriend Renee Lacroix of Fernandina Beach, Florida; twelve grandchildren: Ryan Koppel and his wife Kristen; Jacob and Katelyn Leidy; Emily and John O�Day; Kelsey, Connor, Kieran and Cormac O�Day; and Tierney, Meghan and Brendan O�Day; three great grandchildren: Caleb, Jonah and Micah Koppel.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a Wake Service starting at 4:00pm at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home 1305 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Michael�s Catholic Church, Fernandina Beach, Florida, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
