My sincere condolences to Baileigh's children and her family. The Elm Street Little League parking lot will never be the same (she always made her "own" parking space). She was indeed a joy to be around and a huge supporter of the Elm Street Little League softball program. I'll miss her infectious laugh.

Michelle Scarberry

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. The whole town has shaken from this. I will always cherish growing up with her. St Michaels was a huge part of my childhood. The majority of my core childhood memories have Baileigh in there. Whether it was at my house dressing my little brother up in girl make up. Traveling to Orlando for a trip with St Michaels. Playing softball and basketball. I will miss running into you and Mrs Lori in the store and catching up. I’m so grateful you got to see my sweet baby before you went to our forever home. Save a seat and a big drink for me. Watch over us. We will forever be grateful for you loving spirit. The good die young.

David Althouse

Lori, Buster, Chris, Carla, and Rachel...I'm so sorry to learn of Baileigh's, passing. I'm sure, y'all are absolutely devastated, but at the same time, I know, as I'm sure y'all do, that she is rejoicing in the arms of our Lord. She's reuniting and visiting with Nana Hazel and Papa Duane and dear cousin Jarred....and meeting Papa Kennedy, for the first time! What a glorious day in Heaven, for it to be such a devastating day on Earth. Through our faith in God and our Lord, Jesus, we WILL endure...until such a time, we will all be united with our loved ones once more. All my Love and Prayers.

Aunt Mary, Uncle Bob, Scott, Austin and Brandie

Sweet dreams our precious girl. We love you and you will always be our hearts.

Baileigh Alexis Ann Kennedy

2023-03-08

Baileigh Alexis Ann Kennedy, 33, of Fernandina Beach passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Jacksonville at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Baileigh was born in Fernandina Beach and was a daughter of Charles “Buster” and Lori Newsome Kennedy. She grew up in Fernandina Beach and lived her entire life here. She attended St. Michaels Academy where she played softball and basketball. After St. Michaels she attended Fernandina Beach High School where she was a cheerleader.
Baileigh was loving and bubbly young lady who loved unreservedly and without limits. She had the ability to be both caring and feisty at nearly the same time. Baileigh had the unique ability to look at the world in the openness and caring way a child could. She was a mother, daughter and sister who was always there any time someone needed anything. Anything she committed herself to, she was “all in”. Through all the years Baileigh loved all her family with no limits but her love her for her siblings, Chris, Carla and Rachel was a special beyond words.
Baileigh was a wonderful softball and baseball mom for her children and did everything she could to support her children. The two most important things in her life were her faith and her family. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She loved country music, fishing, spending time at the beach and she really enjoyed having a bonfire in the yard at home.
She leaves behind her three children, Landon, Cameron and Evalynn Grace; her parents, Buster and Lori Kennedy; her siblings, Christopher Kennedy and his wife, Michele, Carla Keane and her husband, Chris, and Rachel Kennedy Davis; her partner, Garrett Wilkes and his sons, Jaxson and Dylan as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. There will be a Rosary Service beginning at 5:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2023 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church.
She will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
Rather than flowers, the family asks you consider donating to the Fernandina Beach Middle School Baseball Program or the Elm Street Recreation Center Girls Softball Program.
