Barbara Ann Bower

Barbara Ann Bower, 78, of Fernandina Beach FL was born on February 25, 1946, to the late Mary Elizabeth Noble (Surran) Mother, and Walter James Noble, Father. Her early childhood was growing up in Millville and Vineland, New Jersey. She attended Vineland public Schools, followed by graduation at Vineland Senior High School in 1974. She also attended The Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.

Beginning in 1965, Barbara worked as Bank Teller at the Vineland Savings and Loan as a Bank Teller, Vineland NJ, Bank Teller at Newfield Bank Savings and Loan, Newfield NJ. She also worked as Bookkeeper at the Wheat Road Shop-Rite, Vineland NJ, Qualifying Test Administrator & Monitor for the Carpenters Union, Savannah GA, Secretary at the University of Hawaii Sea Grant Program Oahu HI, Manoha (Oahu) Campus, HR Administrator Kealoha Land Development Inc. Kona HI, the William Keck Observatory in Kamuela, HI as Assistant HR Administrator. In 1978 Barbara started her own business, Busy Bee Typing LLC. providing typing, editing, and proof reading for individuals and companies. One of her biggest accomplishments was proof reading, typing and editing several series of 50-60s Rock & Roll Triva Books for a writer pen-named writer ‘Presley Love’.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 52 Years, Gordon F. Bower, Fernandina Beach, FL; Brother, Barry Wayne Noble and spouse Pam Bower (Jervey), Brunswick GA; Brother-in Law & wife Jonathan & and Patricia Bower, Colchester, CT’ and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins throughout New Jersey and Vermont, as well as special Hana’i (Calabash) family members, Harry and Susie (Vogelgesang) Saunders, Kailua HI, and Dr. Lehua Lani Kealohi Conception and son Kai’a, Kailua HI.

Barbara accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Frist Baptist Church, Newfield NJ. Barbara and Gordon’s favorite Bible Chapter is Psalms 27 which begins with Verse 1: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Friends and family are welcome to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2 p.m.at the Fernandina Beach Church of Christ, 1005 South 14th St Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.

Barbara will be laid to rest on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville FL 32218.
