Barbara Susan Alverson Anderson Patton, age 75 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

Born on April 29, 1949 in Fernandina Beach, FL to the late Hayes Alverson and Joan Alverson. After graduation, she pursued further education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Barbara had a long and successful career as a registered nurse. She spent 40 years caring for and tending to patients.

She is preceded in death by parents: Father, Hayes Brummett Alverson and Mother, Marcella Joan Alverson. Her first husband and father of children, Jim Anderson; her second husband and Soul-Mate, Henry Thomas Patton and sister, Virginia "Ginny" Alverson Lee.

She leaves behind children Jay (Laura) Anderson of Hudson, Wisconsin; Ashley (Jimmy) Leis of Douglas, Georgia and Kate (Michael) Anderson of Warner Robins, Georgia. Her sister, Patty Thornton of Fernandina Beach, FL and her grandchildren, Clara Leis of Miami, FL; Jim Leis of Kennesaw, GA; Jack Anderson of St. Paul, MN and Alex Anderson of St. Paul, MN.

Donations may be made in Barbara’s name to Cat's Angels of Fernandina Beach, FL.
