Betty M. Scott Cook, 83 of St. Augustine, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Silver Creek Assisted Living.
She was born on December 29, 1937 in Kingsland, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Dovie Cooper Miller.
Mrs. Cook was a resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida for 40 years and enjoyed Little League functions and her family and neighbors. She was also active in the shrimping business.
After remarrying, she became a resident of St. Augustine, Florida and while living there, she became involved with the Calgary Turning Point Baptist Church and enjoyed the Senior Women’s Class, Mystery Trip dinners and church trips.
She is preceded in death by her parents and seven sisters.
She leaves behind her children, Mitchell (Margaret) Scott of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Hadley Scott of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Dennis Scott of St. Augustine, Florida, Danone Boykin, Bobby Cook , Ronnie Cook, Marty Cook, Allen Mills, Wendy Lannon, ; brother, Lewis ”Buddy” (Jo Ann) Miller of Fernandina Beach, Florida and sister, Judy (Buddy) Cooner of Eufaula, Alabama.
Mrs. Cook had five grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Scott, Garrett (Jessica) Scott, Alyssa Scott, Kolby Scott and Jenna Kay Scott all of Fernandina Beach, Florida; five precious great-grandchildren, Lee Scott, Ryan Taylor, Mary Taylor, Ezra Scott and Hanson Hoover. She also leaves behind a special friend, Mr. Jack Rainer and special niece Mrs. Pat Cook.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard.
Her family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest in Green Pine Cemetery.
