Beverly Ann Norton

Mrs. Beverly Ann Wood Norton of Fernandina Beach, Florida went to be with God on Saturday, April 28, 2018 after a brief illness.

Beverly was the eldest of three children born to Ralph and Mary Evelyn Wood. She was born June 21, 1940 in Jesup, Georgia. She grew up in Fernandina Beach, where she graduated from Fernandina Beach High School Class of 1957. She continued her education at Stetson University and St. Luke�s Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with a degree in Nursing. Beverly worked as a registered nurse in Jacksonville for many years at St Luke�s and Wolfson Children�s Hospitals, all the while continuing her education. She earned a Bachelor�s Degree in Nursing and a Master�s degree in Allied Health from University of North Florida.

Beverly was a long-time parishioner, Lector and member of the Altar Guild of St. Peter�s Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Norton.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Gail Crim, her brother Ralph �Chip� Wood and his wife Margaret Ann, and by her four sons: Richard Norton and his wife, Tammy, Greg Norton and his wife, Sheila, Randy Norton and his wife, Valerie, and Jeff Norton and his wife, Megan. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shawn, Sarah, Kyle, Maia, and Marissa, as well as three great-grandchildren; Natasha, Robin, and Victoria. She leaves behind four nephews as well; Jerry Sapp II, David Imbs, Curtis Lentjes, and Jeremy Wood and one beloved niece, Dana Whitekus. Beverly Ann will be missed by her family, friends, her church family, and her bridge club.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter�s Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach with the Reverend Stephen Mazingo officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church�s Burns Hall.

Beverly will be laid to rest in St. Peter�s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Youth Program at St. Peter�s Episcopal Church; 801 Atlantic Blvd., Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034.
