Burley is my big brother. When we were very young he thought it was his job to protect little sister from all of the boys in my life. Mostly he would let them know he was my big brother and he would take care of anyone who looked my direction. He even ran off the boy that seat beside me on the school bus because he just didn't like his looks! What guy he help me so much I didn't have any boyfriends until Burley was in high school and I was still in middle. He will always be my sweet big brother and I will be sure to thank for taking such good care me!

Burley Allen McComas, 81 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Monday July 13th, 2026 at Warner Center for Community Hospice.
Born on May 21st, 1945, in Santa Rosa California to the late Burley and Mary McComas. He grew up in Bluefield, West Virginia and then moved to the Tampa area.
Burley worked for AgriCo as a welder and fabricator for the majority of his working career and retired in the early 2000’s.
Burley was an avid fisherman who often enjoyed karaoke, shooting pool, hot rods and his garden. He was a funny and fun-loving, caring individual who loved his family and was passionate at making others smile.
He was an active member of the Dune Buggy Brothers Garage.
He is predeceased by his late son, Stacey McComas and his wife of 30+ years, Geraldine McComas.
Burley leaves behind his son, Christopher McComas of Fernandina Beach, FL. His sister, Elaine Cline of Zephyrhills, FL and brother Danny McComas of Riverview FL, as well as an extensive step-family from Plant City, FL all the way to great grandchildren which he was very proud of.
Private Services will be held with his local car club at his favorite beach and a laid-to-rest service in Lakeland, FL date TBD.
He will be laid to rest with his late wife at Springhead Cemetery in Lakeland.
