Carl "Boots" Wright McGowan, Jr., 68, of Yulee, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home.

He was born on June 15, 1952 in Raleigh, NC to (the late) Carl Wright McGowan, Sr. and Ruby Elizabeth Rogers. "Boots" graduated from the University of Florida in 1974. He worked as a Senior Nuclear Auxiliary Operator until he retired from Duke Energy.

He is survived by his children, Maren Lea McGowan and Cory Wright McGowan; his sister, Elizabeth �Beth� McGowan Spruill; and his niece and her husband, Sarah Woodward Lewis and Rodney �Kyle� Lewis.

He was a devoted Florida Gators Alumni/Fan and an avid surfer.
