Mr. Carmen Edward Wright, age 78, of Fernandina Beach, passed away at his home on Friday morning, March 25, 2016.

Born in Harlan, KY, he was the youngest and last living of five children born to the late Kelly and Bertie Pittman Wright. He grew up in Harlan and was a graduate of Harlan High School. After high school he accepted a Basketball scholarship to attend Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. Mr. Wright enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958 and began a 30 year career resulting in his retiring from active duty as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1988. After being honorably discharged he joined the Department of Labor and worked as a Manager and Veteran�s Representative in Brunswick, Kingsland and St. Mary�s Georgia.

Since 2002 he and his wife have made their home in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, FL.

Mr. Wright enjoyed the game of Golf and any college sports event that involved the Kentucky Wildcats.

He leaves behind, his wife of 50 years, Sadie M. Wright, Fernandina Beach, FL, their children, Michele Beard and her husband, Timothy, Folkston, GA, Sheila Barrow and her husband, Donald, Sandersville, GA, Stephan Wright and his wife, Monica, Folkston, GA, seven grandchildren, Sara and Jakob, Samantha, McKenzie and Grayson, Courtney and Grace as well as several nieces and nephews.
