Carolyn Elizabeth Wynne, age 69 of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Warner Center for Caring.

She was born in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Ralph Lee Casteel and Ella Elizabeth Thrasher.

Carolyn grew up in Roanoke and graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor�s Degree in Music. An accomplished pianist and singer, she began her career as a choral director in Elementary, Junior High and Senior High Schools in the Roanoke area.

Thirty years ago, Carolyn met her husband, James Wynne while out with friends. They hit it off immediately and soon became inseparable. He lovingly calls her his best friend. They moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida 6 years ago and Carolyn could often be found walking her dog Lexi downtown in Fernandina Beach where they would stop by various shops for Lexi to receive her treats from the employees.

Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always wanting everyone around her to be happy.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend, James Francis Wynne of Fernandina Beach, FL; daughter, Laura Kemp and her husband Andy of Hanover, Pennsylvania; son, Jason Hobbie and his wife Claire of Richmond, Virginia; step-son Danny Wynne and his wife Holly of Roanoke, Virginia; sister, Sandra Hunziker and her husband Jimmy of Hardy, Virginia and numerous grandchildren.
