Carolyn Jane Guerrin
2018-06-24
Carolyn Jane Guerrin, age 75 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home.
She was born on April 14, 1943 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Gordon Clifton Murphy and Edna Elizabeth Campbell.
Carolyn graduated from Springfield Technical High School, class of 1961 and continued her education at Holyoke Junior College in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
After marrying William Clyde Guerrin, the young couple moved to Fernandina Beach in 1971 and raised their family. Their family worshiped at First Presbyterian Church where she was active for many years. There she served as an elder and deacon.
She was also a member of the American Business Womens Association and the Womans Club of Fernandina Beach. She retired from Ron Anderson Chevrolet/GMC where she was Bookkeeper for many years. She never met a stranger and knew everyone by their first and last names. She would help anyone in need. She enjoyed traveling as well as going to plays and musicals.
She became the quintessential matriarch of the family, doting on her grandchildren. She loved to go swimming with them in the summer months. Carolyn relished getting phone calls from her family and was quick to let them know if she hadnt heard from them as frequently as she thought she should.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William C. Guerrin August 12, 2017.
Surviving family members include, her son James C. Jay Guerrin and his wife Tracy of Yulee, Florida; Grandchildren, Peyton Guerrin, Cova Guerrin and Brady Guerrin all of Yulee, Florida; sisters, Judith Hanstad and her husband Richard of Bend, Oregon, Linda Morris and her husband Kent of South Hero, Vermont and Janet Knight and her husband Stephen of Pawcatuck, Connecticut.
