Carolyn Dean Watson, 89, of Yulee, Florida passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Born in December, 1934 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to the late Dudley A. Dean, Sr. and Sadie Marie Dean. She grew up in Baxley, Georgia and graduated from Appling County High School in 1953. She married David Michael Watson in 1954.

As a homemaker, she and David welcomed four children into their home. Carolyn greaty enjoyed tennis and was accomplished playing the sport. She was instrumental in bringing women's team tennis to Fernandina Beach. She also enjoyed sewing, everything from dresses for her girls to Humpty Dumpty dolls for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David, and 5 brothers and two sisters.

Carolyn leaves behind her four children, Evelyn Marie Watson, Carol Hope (Richard), Mike Watson (Deb), Roger Watson; two grandchildren, Justin Hope, Brittin Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Emma Hope, Ben Hope, and Caydence Wilson. She also leaves behind three sisters, Sonja Crews (Bo), Sandra Turner, Jennifer Snyder; a brother, Randy Dean (Rosemary) and numerous nieces, nephews, and children by marriage, and a special friend of the family, Vickie Watson.

Funeral Services will be at Swain Funeral Home in Baxley, Georgia.
