CeCe was so very special. I met her in Italy at an art retreat and was immediately taken with her spirit and love of art and learning new crafts. Such a sweet special lady whom I'm so glad I got to spend a week getting to know.

I remember all the fun times Abby, Lexi, Colt and I had with MeMe. Going to the pumpkin patch, the aquarium, and the Coca Cola factory to name a few. Great memories.

CeCe was one of my favorite people. She loved me and my family like we were her own! One of my favorite memories was when she and Billy visited us in Gig Harbor before their cruise to Alaska. My love and prayers to all her friends and family.

CeCe Carter Meyers passed away peacefully on the afternoon of January 18, surrounded by her family after courageously fighting acute myeloid leukemia for more than a year.
CeCe was born on August 15, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri. After high school, she attended Fontbonne University in Clayton, Missouri in hopes of pursuing her love of arts. Instead, her future led her to the University of Missouri the following year where she eventually earned her degree in Occupational Therapy.
While living in Columbia, she met the love of her life, Billy. CeCe had many stops between Gainesville, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, by way of Utah and Texas. Over the years, she served on committees at her children’s schools, traveled near and far for kids’ sports, and loved her family fiercely from sun up to sun down. CeCe provided occupational therapy services to students both in and out of schools for forty years. Her talents extended beyond her therapy skills; she was a philanthropist, an author and illustrator, and even owned her own craft business, Heart-n-Hand. CeCe was kind, incredibly passionate, and dedicated to being the best occupational therapist, colleague, wife, sister-in-law, cousin, mom, mother-in-law, MeMe, and friend.
Following her husband’s brain cancer diagnosis and passing, she moved her life to Florida to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She found her way to Fernandina Beach, a special place that held many memories of her husband and her family. Cece decided to seize the day and travel the world with friends and family. Her adventures took her to Hawaii, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta, Australia, New Zealand, and even Bali! Everywhere she went she soaked up the art, the culture, and the special hidden gems that each travel destination had to offer. Shortly after her trip to Barcelona and Tuscany, CeCe was diagnosed with leukemia. She stood in the face of adversity and was determined to get as much time with her people as she could. During her last fourteen months on Earth, she reconnected with old friends, spent lots of time with her family, and even got to meet her newest grandchildren. She could often be heard stating, ”I can do hard things,” and that she did. Warrior does not even begin to describe Cece Meyers.
CeCe is survived by her children, Kara Meyers, Carter Meyers, Kelsey Meyers Kiel, and her husband Justin, her daughter-in-law Yvonne Meyers, her grandchildren - Lexi McNamee, Abby Parent, Jacob Scammacca, Colt Meyers, Kolbie Kiel, Emersyn Kiel, her great grandchild, Brooks McNamee, and her granddogs - Penny, Lucy, Cash, Jett, and Pickles. She is also survived by her cousins - Tommy Courtway, Bobby Courtway, John Courtway, Jeff Courtway, and their families as well as her sister-in-law, Katy Meyers; nieces, Lauren and Zoe Bennett; brother-in-law, Robert Meyers, and his wife, Sherri, and nephew, Sam Gildemaster-Meyers.
A celebration of her life is being planned for April. Rather than flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to:
