Charles McNabb

Mr. Charles A. McNabb, age 73 of Fernandina Beach passed away on Sunday morning, May 28, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Wiley McNabb.
Born in Philadelphia PA, he was the 2nd of four sons born to the late Francis Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Hiemenz McNabb. After residing in Philadelphia until his early teens, his family moved to Malvern PA. After marrying in 1964, Charles settled in Downingtown PA and pursued a career in the automotive industry. Charles was the Owner/Operator of McNabb�s Service Center in Eagle PA until retiring in 1993. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Fernandina Beach. Through the ensuing years they wintered in Fernandina Beach and spent summers in Earleville, MD on the Chesapeake Bay.
He was a member of St. Joseph�s Catholic Church in Downingtown, PA and had attended St. Michael�s Catholic Church after settling in Fernandina Beach.
Charlie enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be playing a round of golf, boating, fishing or crabbing; or enjoying their annual family crab feast at their summer cottage in Maryland.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his oldest brother, Francis Herman McNabb.
Mr. McNabb leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ruth Wiley McNabb of Fernandina Beach, FL, and their three children; Michael F. McNabb (Chester Springs, PA), Christine L. Smith (Charleston, SC), and Pamela A. McNabb (Chattanooga, TN). In addition, his two brothers, John T. McNabb (Schwenksville, PA), and James H. McNabb, (Paoli, PA) and five grandsons, Ryan, Colin, Samuel, Benjamin, Charles Knox and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McNabb will be laid to rest in St. Matthews Church Cemetery, Chester Springs, PA.
