Claire was my sister's best friend from Commack and the Commack schools growing up and always together, Claire was like my 2nd sister to me and my brother as we were growing up and Claire was always down by our house hanging out with all of us.she used to always cut my hair for me and we had alot of laughs together with her kind heart and thoughtful ways.yes she did put up a strong fight to beat this but the good lord 🙏 had different plans for Claire. Claire is now reunited with my sister in heaven flying high with all the other angels.please give my sister a hug for me Claire and we will always love and miss you dearly. So too my both sisters, go rest high on that mountain of peace. May the good lord hold you in his arms so you won't suffer anymore. We all love and miss you Claire and we will always remember the good and bad times we all shared. Love always and RIP.

Claire was always so thoughtful. If she saw something she thought I’d like she’d bring it to work. One time she brought me a bag because she said it “looked like me”. She had such a big heart!! You will be missed dearly ClaireBear

I am still in shock and disbelief. Claire and Charles became my neighbors in 2001 and through them I met the rest of the Jacksonville family. Claire, Charles, Carol and Betty became almost like my own family. I asked my brother, Monsignor Mike Morgan to offer a Mass for Claire and he will do so. RIP friend.

This is such a loss at a time when the world really needs more Claires. From the first time I met her,, I knew she was a Jewel.. Claire was so respectful and thoughtful of others. She treated everyone with such compassion and kindness always. She valued people like no other. If you ever ran into her anywhere, my first reaction always was "Yes, Claire is here, We will have a great time!" Thank you Claire for the laughs and for sharing all your insights of this crazy world. Let's not forget your impeccable taste in music too. Would love to hear your Playlist now. Just a Class Act. Save me some space on that dance floor. Till we meet again❤

Such a sweet, fun lady! Always made me smile when she would be flying out from JAX airport on one of the flights I was working that day. Love that she always wanted to take a picture with me at the gate. I will miss seeing her and that great spirit. Earth is a little less shiny with her not here, but Heaven has gained a great, sparkling Gem!!!

We love you Aunt Claire! Through your optimism you truly made this world a better place.

Claire Patricia Sheehan, 64 of Jacksonville Beach passed away on September 14th , 2021, at Community Hospice Ascension Saint Vincent’s Riverside.
She was born on March 13, 1957, in Queens, NY to Elizabeth Byrnes and the late Vincent Sheehan. She grew up in Commack, NY and graduated from Commack High School in 1976. Claire attended Buffalo State College for a time, and worked in the financial industry in New York City.
After moving to Florida 20 years ago, she learned to love the beach, cooking, and live music almost as much as her family. She spent many years as the Aprons chef at Publix. She was a delightful woman, thoughtful, feisty, friendly and fun with a fabulous dry sarcastic wit.
Claire is survived by her mother Elizabeth Byrnes; her stepmother, Janet Sheehan; her sisters, Carol Sheehan and Elaine Knecht; Brother-in-law, Don Knecht; nephew, Michael Sheehan; nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews of the Sheehan, Knecht, Blackstone and VanSaders families, as well as her beloved companion of 30 years, Charles Grieco, who is quoted saying, “after God created Claire, He retired.”
A Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at Resurrection Catholic Church at 8 AM on October 7, 2021.
Celebration of Life is currently being planned.
If you would like to honor Claire’s memory please make a donation to Community Hospice at St. Vincent’s Riverside or the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry.
