Claude “Ed” Edward Nix, age 64, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away surrounded by family on February 12, 2022.
Ed was born June 06, 1957, in Fernandina Beach, Florida to the late Robert Ray Nix and Essie Mae Jewell. He worked in construction for more than 40 years and was an avid fisherman with a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Nassau River. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Ray Nix and Essie Mae Jewell; sibling Robert Ray Nix, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter Ashley (Scott) Kelly of Yulee, FL.; son Eric Nix of Fernandina Beach, FL.; three brothers, Herbert Nix, John Spruill, Warren Spruill; three sisters, Patricia Woolard, Lynn Rowland and Rita Gill; five grandchildren, Alexis Nix, Kelsey Westfall, Karson Westfall, Riley Kelly, Trent Kelly of Yulee, FL.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
The family asks donations be made, in his memory, to Community Hospice.
