Cleo Flake

2019-10-07

Cleo Flake, age 73 of Callahan, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center North in Jacksonville.

She was born on June 2, 1946 in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Rufus Hall and Easter Hall.

She graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1964 and was employed as a cashier for Norwood Bicycle and Mower in Jacksonville for most of her life.

Cleo loved wildlife, animals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her husband, Larry �Buddy� Flake of Callahan, Florida; children, Eric Friedmann and his wife Heather of Yulee, Florida, Linda Bell, Jerrie Cobb and her husband Tony, Omega Maddox, Larry Flake II and his wife Laura all of Crossville, Tennessee, Dusty Flake and his wife Dale of Callahan, Florida, and dear sisters-in-law, Evelyn Owens and her husband Albert, Betty Cole and her husband Jack. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and several great-grand children.

Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Lockwood officiating.

Following the service the family will have a reception at the Fernandina Family Worship Center.

The family requests that donations be made in her name to Nassau Humane Society, 639 Airport Road, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.
