Clovis W. �Tom� Clements

Mr. Clovis W. �Tom� Clements, age 72, of Fernandina Beach, passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach on Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2017.
Born in Brunswick, GA, he was the youngest and last living of four children born to the late Wilson William Clements and Cloreen David Thompson Clements. He grew up in Alma before moving to Port Orange, FL as a teenager. He graduated from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach in 1963. During his senior year in high school, he and the other members of the high school marching band were invited to and performed in the Macy�s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Upon completing high school he began a long career in Law Enforcement. Mr. Clements worked with the Fish and Game Commission from 1965 until 1974. He joined the Marion County Sheriff�s Office in 1975 where he worked in every division until retiring with the rank of Captain in 1998. At the time of his retirement, he and his wife moved to Fernandina Beach, FL.
Mr. Clements enjoyed reading SciFi Mysteries and Law Enforcement material. As a child he held fond memories of Flounder gigging in the tidal waters of Brunswick and hunting the woodlands of Bacon County. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his extended family, of 51 years, in the mountains of New Hampshire, where she is from.
He was a member of the Marion Dunn Lodge No. 19, F & AM.
He leaves behind his wife, Gloria Hayes Clements, Fernandina Beach, FL, their son, Ken Clements and his wife, Audrey, Yulee, FL, a grandson, Tyler Clements, a brother in law, three sisters in law and several nieces and nephews living in the New Hampshire area.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2017 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with Reverend Tom Tyer, officiating.
His family will receive friends on Friday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
