Danny Marie Murray, 89, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.

Born in Jacksonville, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Maybelle Franklin Trucks.

Danny and her former husband, the late Robert Jarriel, were married for 25 years. They raised three daughters and ran a successful business in Jacksonville for many years.

She had lived in Yulee beginning in 1991 and was the widow of Mr. Elmer Murray, who passed away in 2012.

For many years Danny was an active member of Five Points Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and worked on the Kitchen Committee helping with meals. She also was a member of the Fernandina Beach Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Yulee Lions Club. She and her husband, Elmer, were active in a camping and RV group known as the Over the Hill Gang. Over the years, they had a good times traveling with each other and with friends.

She also enjoyed working in her yard and when not in the yard, Danny had a good time watching sports on TV. Whether it was the Atlanta Braves, the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Jacksonville Jaguars, she was there at the TV, often in an outfit to match the team she was rooting for. Danny also loved all types of music and had a wonderful voice. One of her favorite activities was playing cards, specifically “Skip-Bo” with her friends.

She leaves behind, as she said, her “wonderful” daughters, Linda Reagor of Ponte Vedra Beach, Barbara (Sidney) Porter of Atlantic Beach and Danette (Cindy) Jarriel of Neptune Beach; a step-son, Scottie (Susan) Murray of Yulee; her siblings, Jimmy Trucks and Patsy Roberts, both of Jacksonville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a large extended family of both the Jarriel and Murray families.

Funeral services for Danny will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. Pastor Frank Camarotti will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Mr. Elmer Murray at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee.
