Darius Andrew Blash, 30, of Fernandina Beach passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Port Orange.

Darius was born in Fernandina Beach and was a son of Colleen Blash. He grew up in Fernandina Beach and attended schools here.

As a young man, Darius worked as a cook in restaurants and always enjoyed his work. He was a big teddy bear of a guy who was always smiling and in a good mood. He was a jokester who enjoyed kidding with people but always kept an ear open to listen to others. He was considered a blessing by many because of his willingness to listen and be a good friend.

Darius enjoyed many things away from work including fishing, playing video games and eating. He favorite thing though, was spending time with family.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Roland Blash and an aunt, Rochelia Smith.

He leaves behind his mother, Colleen Blash of Fernandina Beach; his brother, James Blash of Live Oak, FL and his sister, Jasmine Blash of Middleburg, FL; his maternal grandmother, Evangeline Smith of Fernandina Beach; his aunts and uncles, Elizabeth McDowell of Fernandina Beach, Lynn Smith of Fernandina Beach, Evelyn Smith of Fernandina Beach, James Smith of Jacksonville, Donell Baker of Fernandina Beach and Jeanie Tookes of Fernandina as well as a host of extended family including many cousins, nieces and nephews and a number of friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends Friday, April 9th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

He will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.
