David Allan Russell, 66, of Fernandina Beach passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center, Nassau.

David was the son of the late Allan and Alma Coleman Russell and was born in Douglas, GA while his family was visiting there. He was raised in Fernandina Beach as graduated from Fernandina Beach and attended college in Jacksonville.

He worked at CCA/WestRock and retired as a Control Room Operator after a 38-year career. David was an avid cat lover and enjoyed boating, golfing, fishing and listening to Jimmy Buffett’s music. There was nothing more he liked, though, than riding his Harley 3 wheel.

David leaves behind his wife, Catherine Russell of Fernandina Beach; a daughter, Alison Russell of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several extended family members.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

There is a celebration of life service planned for David at Main Beach at a later date. The time and date will be posted by Catherine on Facebook.
