Gary and Tammy Hutcheson
Dave and Linda were dear friends. Losing both of them has been heart wrenching. We have wonderful memories of time spent together. We know losing Linda was so hard for Dave. We believe he died from a broken heart. A very special thank you needs to be expressed to Dave’s three wonderful children who have taken great care of Dave this year. Linda’s fear was him being by himself. Jeff, Steve, and Jennifer you guys were true Angels to him. Dave was an incredible person and we are better off for being his friend!

I was saddened to hear that Dave has passed. He and Linda and Coco were the best of neighbors when I lived on Village Court. His memory will always be a blessing. My sincerest condolences to the entire family.

I am saddened to learn of of David's passing. It was both an honor and privilege to know him. He was the face I loved to see the most at Baptist Nassau! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

David Charles Rogers of Fernandina Beach, Florida, was called home by
Jesus on Sunday, September 27th, 2026. He was born on January 4,
1934, in Buffalo, New York.
David was a devoted member of Memorial United Methodist Church in
Fernandina Beach, where he generously shared his many gifts in service
to his faith and community.
A proud graduate of Norwich University, Class of 1955, David
maintained a lifelong connection to his alma mater. He joyfully
returned for many reunions and marched with his graduating class
during annual Norwich Homecoming weekends, often alongside his wife,
Linda.
David was an Army veteran and, following his military service, enjoyed
a successful career in computer science. He culminated his career by
leading a nationwide insurance computer service center in
Jacksonville, Florida.
Athletic throughout his life, David played basketball in high school
and, as an adult, enjoyed skiing, tennis, and running. He was
especially proud to have run multiple marathons.
After moving to Amelia Island with Linda, David was among the founding
members of the Kraft Tennis Club. He later served as president,
cherishing both the sport and the friendships it fostered. David and
Linda also spent many joyful years as season ticket holders for the
Jacksonville Jaguars.
David and Linda spent many years traveling the world and cherished
these adventures together. Some of their favorite memories included a
chartered boat trip in the British Virgin Islands, a cruise through
the Panama Canal, and several trips to the United Kingdom. They
especially loved spending time together on Hilton Head, both on their
own and with their family.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, and their
cherished cocker spaniel, CoCo.
His three children survive him: Jeffry David of Fernandina Beach,
Florida; Stephen David of Charleston; and Jennifer Farrow of Denver,
Colorado, who loved their father deeply. David also treasured the
annual visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who
delighted in spending time with him.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am at the Memorial United
Methodist Church in Fernandina Beach, FL on Friday, October 23, 2026.
Rather than flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Memorial United Methodist Church
in David’s honor.
