David H. Mackinson, Jr.

David H. Mackinson Jr. was called home to his Lord and Savior on February 9th, 2024.

He was born on November 12th, 1934 in New Jersey. He served in the military in the Army. He was married for 55 years to Gail Ann (Casper) Mackinson and was the proud father of four children – Laura Mostello (John), Dawn Drapeylo, David Mackinson (Stephanie), and Amy Strawn (Joseph Sr.). He was blessed with nine grandchildren – Alyssa Anderson (Christopher), Joshua Wingfield, Chloe Bridges, David and Jessica Mackinson, Joseph Jr., Lalynn, Ashlynn, and Jentsen Strawn. He also had three great grandchildren – Micaiah, Everleigh, and Francesca Anderson. David was the brother of the late Elaine Knoch, Diane Drake and then brothers Daniel and Donald Mackinson, Delores Florence, and Dorothy Gerdes.

David was employed with the U.S. Post Office for 43 ½ years. He was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church and served in many ministries of former churches. He also was a faithful volunteer for over 50 years at Sacandaga Bible Conference.

David wants to be remembered as a dedicated Christian, faithful husband, devoted father, hard working provider, and a servant of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Oxley Heard Funeral Home on Friday, February 16th,2024 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Springhill Baptist Church on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

He will be laid to rest in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
