Denise R. Scheffer

Denise Roberts Scheffer passed on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

The miracle daughter and only child of John and Helen Roberts, she was born July 21, 1956 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and raised in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
Successfully passing the Certified Public Accountant examination as a senior at Widener University in 1979; she was the recipient of the Widener University Professional Achievement Award. Following graduation, Denise Rory Roberts joined the international accounting firm of Deloit/Touche, in the Jacksonville office. In 1985 she opened her own firm in Jacksonville and expanded to Fernandina Beach in 1989.

Denise was a member of the American and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In 1993, Denise and Bob opened O�Kane�s Irish Pub and Eatery, featuring recipes her great grandmother, Molly O�Kane, served in her Belfast Pub.

She was a devout Catholic and felt that the greatest gifts her parents gave her were her faith and Catholic education.

An avid traveler, she toured the world with her husband and was particularly fond of Paris and Bali.

Denise is survived by her husband, Doctor Robert Scheffer, step daughter, Susan Milligan, son in law, Michael Milligan and grandson, Zachery of Ponta Vedra Beach, Florida. Her surviving aunts and uncle include, Mary Velma Hayes, Catherine Slobodozian, Julia Ferguson and Raymond Wladyka, all of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fernandina Beach with the Reverend Father Jose Kallukalam, Celebrant.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, at St. Michael Church, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.

Interment will be at Bosque Bello Cemetery in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

A reception will follow the interment in St. Michael�s Parish Hall.
