I did not have the pleasure of personally knowing Deputy Moyers, however, as a resident of Nassau County all of my life, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to his entire family, including his law enforcement family. My heart is broken with the loss of Josh, he is such a sweet soul and I will always remember that beautiful smile. I know that my mama was waiting at the gates of Heaven to wrap her arms around Josh as he arrived, oh how she loved that little red hair, freckle faced angel. Brenda, Tim, Jordan and Ivy, please know that you are now and always in my every thought and prayer.

I am deeply sorry that we have lost Deputy Moyers! As a current citizen attending the Sheriff's Academy, I am amazed at the bravery and dedication of law enforcement personnel. In my Bible reading today, God called on Joshua to be a hero and lead the Israelites in their journey to promised land. I pray that our Joshua Moyers, our Nassau County hero is encircled by God's radiant love and peace this very moment! And I ask God to shower faith and peace on his family as they endure great grief with this tragedy. We will never forget Deputy Joshua Moyers!

I did not Josh personally but he patrolled our road very often. Always with a smile if he passed you and a wave if he seen you out in the yard. Always above and beyond with respect if he spoke with you. A young man who's love for his job and community shown through the giant smile that was always on his face. That will truly be missed in our community. My deepest condolences go to his Mother and Father and brother, as well as his sweet Ivy. May God bless and hold you in his arms as you grieve and process this devastating loss. Many many prayers as well as much love as you move forward.

We did not know you Joshua, but we are all less now because of losing you. In a world that loves evil and chants "resist" and "defund the police" you decided to step into the gap and protect us from the wolves. Dear Deputy Moyers, Yesterday was my birthday. I was honored to stand on the side of the road for you and cried as you went by. Like others, I cried throughout the day for your loved ones and our department. I grew up in NCSO and my dad retired from there. We are all family, and, in this family, we all stand together. My love and prayers to your fiancée and family. I pray that you rest knowing the watch is secure and your absence will be greatly felt in this community. I remember Josh and I riding in his truck in North East Hunting Club in Hilliard and we just talked about life and how we wanted to make a difference in this world. Josh told me that day that he wanted to be a police officer so that he could help people and I think we would all agree that he did just that! Fly High brother!

I have never met Deputy Moyers before, but I prayed for him every day as the mother of a police officer in Gainesville. The pictures I have seen of Deputy Moyers one thing stood out to me was his smile. He looked like he was an amazing young man. Praying for his family, blood and blue.

I never met Josh in person. We connected through Dogos. He liked my girl and we had talked about breeding. Never got the chance to. Sorry I was able to meet in person and go hunting with you. You seemed like a great person and your upbeat and friendly nature was something truly lacking in the breed community. I wish your love ones comfort and peace as I know your loss will be something they never get over.

Josh, what I will remember most about you is your smile! I don’t recall a time where you weren’t smiling. You had such a huge heart, I’m sad my kids won’t get to grow up with you in their lives but I’m glad they will have the memories of Christmas Eves and you lighting up the police lights and sirens for them. Rest In Peace my friend, I will miss you more than I would have ever known. I looked forward to many years of growing older with you and Ivey and your future family, what an amazing father you would have been. So sad and so tragic, I can’t make sense of it, you were truly one of the good guys.
