Mrs. Dorothy Geneva Paulk Lackey, age 84 of Keystone Heights passed away on Monday afternoon, May 23, 2016 at the Orange Park Medical Center.
Born in Gainesville, FL, she was one of three children born to the late Wallace Herbert Hardee and Francis Watson Hardee. She grew up in Tampa where she was a graduate of Jefferson High School. After high school she married William Dorsey Paulk and they started their family. She remained married to Mr. Paulk until his passing; after which time she married Marvin L. Lackey. Mr. Lackey deceased in the early 2000s. Mrs. Lackey has been a resident of Keystone Heights for the past 30 years.
She offered safe refuge to all stray animals in her neighborhood and enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Mrs. Lackey leaves behind her children, Jack Paulk and his wife, Patti, Yulee, FL, Steve Paulk, Canton, OH, Geary Paulk and his wife, Evelyn, Brooklyn, NY, Annette Bradford, Kingsland, GA, her sister, Ruth Hayford, Murphy, NC, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lackey will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date.
