Dr. Enrico Davoli

ENRICO DAVOLI, M.D., age 85 of Amelia Island, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born in Queens, New York City, he received a B.A. in Biology from New York University (1952), and his Medical Degree from Georgetown University Medical Center (1956). Dr. Davoli was a pediatrician in private practice in McLean, Virginia for over 45 years. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church of Amelia Island.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jane Simpson Davoli (1926- 2015), and by their sixth child, Paul (1965-1988).

Dr. Davoli�s loss is mourned by his adoring children: Cecilia (Baltimore, MD), Francis (Boulevard, CA), Michael (Alpharetta, GA), Joseph (Falls Church, VA) and Joanmarie (Amelia Island, FL). He was the adored grandfather of Ilaria, Dion, Isabella, Austin, and Quintin (FL), and Annamaria and Paul (VA). He was the honored father-in-law to Bill Thompson (FL) and Margaret Hoeger (VA). He was the beloved brother of his adoring only sister, Elizabeth Davoli (N.J.).

Enrico and Jane loved their home on Amelia Island and spent many happy years here after their retirement from Virginia. Enrico described Jane as his �Irish Rose� and felt her loss every day. Despite great sadness, Enrico focused on his many talents over the past 20 months. He founded the Italian Club at Osprey Village, he held art shows exhibiting his abstract acrylic paintings, he became a proud member of the Nassau County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), he enjoyed meetings with the St. Michael�s Men�s Club, and he relished his role boxing as �Kid Rico� at the YMCA�s Parkinson�s Therapy Class.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Jose Kallukalam, Celebrant. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the parish hall.

Dr. Davoli will be laid to rest with his wife and son in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 � 7:00 pm in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard where the Vigil Service for the Deceased will be held at 6:00 pm.

The East Nassau Team of Community Hospice, c/o Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257; who provided comfort to the family and supplies for his care.
