Gary was a classmate at Montana State. I had the privilege of getting to know him as friend in graduate school. Gary was a very caring, genuine, hard working and intelligent. On one occasion a ChE Department lab technician has badly injured in a house fire. Gary drove to the burn center in Salt Lake City, Utah to visit him. Cy did not live long after the visit - I am sure it brought him some much needed pleasure. Gary had a big heart. God’s peace to Dorothy and of Gary’s. family.

Gary gave me the opportunity to travel overseas by being part of the team that worked on the Maydown site project in Londonderry Northern Ireland. Times were different and Gary saw potential in me and I thank him for that. I am sorry that life took over and we didn't get to spend more time together away from our work.
