Elaine Barbara Erb

2026-03-15

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Barbara Erb, (68), who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in Yulee, Florida.

Elaine was born on October 28, 1957, in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania, to parents Edward Bruce Smith and Ruth Sands Smith. In her youth, she moved with her family to Auburndale, Florida, where she spent much of her life building friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.

From the moment you met Elaine, you knew you had met someone special. Anyone who met her met a kind, loving friend they would have for life. She had a warm heart, an open spirit, and a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and cared for.

If one word could describe Elaine, it would be selfless. She always put others before herself and was constantly taking care of those around her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others, touched the lives of so many people. Elaine was deeply loved by everyone who knew her, and her legacy of compassion and warmth will never be forgotten.

Elaine had a wonderful sense of humor and truly loved to laugh. Her laughter could brighten any room, and she found joy in the simple moments of life. She loved watching Godzilla films and anything sci-fi, something that always brought her excitement and a smile.

She also had a deep and passionate love for equestrianism and horses. Elaine cherished any time she could spend at a pasture or barn, and for many years she shared those special moments with her beloved horse, Dixie. Being around horses brought her a sense of peace and happiness that stayed with her throughout her life.

Above all else, Elaine loved her family deeply. She treasured every moment spent together and truly cherished those times. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Dana (Justin) and Danielle, and a proud and loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Brooke (Nic), Aubree, Flynn, Norra, Rylee, and great- granddaughter, Hartlen. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she gave them will remain with them always.

Elaine also leaves behind her loving sisters Laurie, Pam(Stan), Denise(Jeff)Audrey (Stephen) Julie(Malik), Shelia, and Melissa (Tim), as well as her brother, Ed (Barbara), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 beautiful years, Gary Alan Erb; her parents, E.B. and Ruth Smith; and her brother, David.

Elaine’s life was defined by kindness, laughter, and love. She leaves behind countless memories and a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
